I started riding as a fifth birthday present and have spent the majority of my riding life at Long Lane Equestrian, where I now try to fund my horses and their expensive tastes by working on the yard and teaching. I am lucky enough to keep both of the horses here, so fitting them in is much easier! I spent my University years at Hartpury College, taking a BSc in Equine Science. I loved my time here, made some wonderful and encouraging friends, whilst adding a Scientific depth to my knowledge of Horses. I use the skills I learnt here everyday, especially when it comes to feeding and fitness work with my horses. |
Despite having been riding since my fifth birthday, I have never been a particularly ambitious rider, mainly due to be crippled with nerves half the time! However all that changed when I met Henry; perhaps not the stereotypical 'competition horse', he gave me the confidence to try everything and it was then I was bitten by the Eventing bug. Unfortunately Henry was bred to pull carts, not jump, life soon caught up with him and I chose to retire him. Luckily it was at this point that Mally crashed into my life and this website will hopefully be a record of our highs (and more than likely our lows!). |
